KMAC Presents: White Glove Test: Louisville Punk Flyers 1978-1994
    Print this page

Concert posters are an aspect of music culture often forgotten, but Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft's newest exhibit, White Glove Test: Louisville Punk Flyers 1978-1994, is here to remind us of one of Louisville's most diverse music scenes.

The exhibit will include over 500 handcrafted concert posters made in time before social media, creative software, and mass printing. These flyers encapsulate punk culture's DIY ethics and will lend a visual experience that is truly rare, original, and local.

The exhibition is also part of the book being released of the same title by independent record label Drag City. The book will feature images of flyers from groups like Slint and Squirrel bait.

The exhibition will open Friday, February 6th from 5 to 9 p.m. It will run from February 6th to April 5th in the Steve Wilson Gallery on the first floor.

Visit Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft for hours and admission pricing or call (502) 589-0102.
