This week includes a lot of different characters coming through Louisville as well as great free events featuring local bands. For location, time and cost, click on the link for each event. Check back at livemusiclou.com after the events for our full reviews

    Sunday (6/14) -

    Broncho

Oklahoma natives Broncho will be coming to town for a rowdy Sunday night show. These guys have been hitting the road pretty heavily, including a Euro-trip, and we think Louisville will welcome them back with a great Zbar evening.

    Monday (6/15) -

Della Mae, Smok n’ Mangos and Ricky Morse

It’s not too often that you’ll find an all-female bluegrass group, but the ladies of Della Mae do it right. Lead vocalist Celia Woodsmith is surrounded by talent from each member of the band – talent that will be easily showcased at The New Vintage.

    Tuesday (6/16) -

Imagine Dragons with Metric and Halsey

Imagine Dragons have quickly risen to fame with their first album and are now headlining a huge stadium tour that will be coming through the KFC Yum! Center. If you’re going, you should be just as excited to see Canadian group Metric – Emily Haines has some pipes that will leave you with chills.

    Tyler the Creator with Taco

Tyler the Creator is an artist known to rile up the crowd nearly every time he plays. The Mercury Ballroom should be an ideal space for Tyler to do his thing. Get yourself in the proper frame of mind and this may be one for the books.

    Thursday (6/18) -

    Gary Clark, Jr.

A summer evening with Gary Clark, Jr. at the Iroquois Amphitheater sounds about as perfect as anything could. He has proven himself as a soulful and charismastic performer that will draw any audience in- as great as his recorded stuff is, he really shines live. Get your hands on these tickets quickly if you haven’t yet.

Rye Back Porch Sessions with Twin Limb, Howell Dawdy and Cher Von

A couple local big hitters will take the stage of Rye’s back “porch” for the second evening of the free summer long series. Twin Limb is, well, Twin Limb and doing stuff that all of Louisville is talking about. Howell Dawdy and Cher Von bring something very fresh and different to the scene. The only thing that will make this night better is if the ladies of Hi-Five Doughnuts make an appearance again.

    Friday (6/19) -

    The Tunesmiths, Frederick the Younger

The ReSurfaced season really is rolling now. The bourbon themed downtown installation will be bringing local bands in on a regular basis including two names that everyone interested in our music culture should know. If it is anything like what this Friday’s show was like, we’re in for a good one.

    Saturday (6/20) -

    The Cave Singers, John Krautner

The Cave Singers will be taking the Zbar stage with a range of instruments and set décor that will have you feeling like you are in their northwestern hometown of Seattle. This indie, folky evening will be a perfect end to the last official day of spring.
