"Lolley and The Lady" is a collection of new works by Louisville artists and dear friends Kathleen Lolley and Lady of Assemblage (Natalie Sud).  Lolley's prints and pillows, and Sud's small works are Makery staples. After Lolley's work was featured in  Domino Magazine earlier this year, the shop was overloaded with requests to see new  original pieces from the artist.  With two shows already scheduled for late spring and summer in Los Angeles, Lolley called on fellow artist Sud to work with her on a local show.  Sud's collages and Lolley's paintings and sketches share similar themes of storytelling and nature.

This is only the second art show hosted by The Makery since moving to a new location last fall.

Kathleen Lolley (born 1978 in Marshfield, Wisconsin) moved to Kentucky nine months after  her birth. She spent her childhood split between Louisville, KY and Pittsburgh, PA. Storytelling plays a prominent role in her work. Critters try to break the spell of day to day heartbreak. Giant elk stumble over towns clasping bottles, is it a remedy they hold or just a beer? Kathleen's artwork explores themes of nature, fantasy & personal history. She currently resides in Louisville where she spends her time making crafts, comics and fine art.

Lady of Assemblage is the work of Russian native Natalie Sud. After growing up in Louisville and attending the University of Louisville for photography, she found herself in Los Angeles. It was there that she started making mixed media collages on wood. After seven years, she returned to her beloved hometown where she continues to pursue her creative vision.  She has been in various group and solo shows in both California and  Kentucky.
