    Here’s your last plug for libraries across the country celebrating  September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. What’s going on around Kentuckiana at your area libraries:

    Barr Memorial Library in Fort Knox

    Make plans to attend The Lunch Bunch Book Discussion Group at Barr Memorial Library. If you are in the Fort Knox area, you can join in on the discussion on October 1 at 11am. They will be discussing the book Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done" by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan. Check out all of the offerings the Barr Memorial Library has going on, they are very interactive with their community.

    Bullitt County Public Library

    BCPL has many programs coming up this last week of September. They include Wii Bowling, several different story hours for youngsters and parents, computer help in their lab, sand art fun, family movie night, piano/musical demo, and more.     Jeffersonville Township Public Library

    At the Jeffersonville libraries this week, patrons young and young at heart can enjoy the following: storytimes, book clubs, Lego League, a book swap, Dungeons and Dragons, crafts made from recycled magazines, classes to learn eBooks and searching the Internet and an American Sign Language class.     Louisville Free Public Library

    In addition to getting more and more excited about the new library’s debut in Southwest Louisville in early October (you can join their Facebook event page and be there for the ribbon cutting ceremony), LFPL is always playing host to programs for ages infancy through adulthood. From a baby storytime at the Main, Bon Air, Crescent Hill, St. Matthews or Iroquois libraries to creating resumes and learning more about eBooks on your tablets and smartphones for adults, hundreds of programs occur monthly at any of the 18 library locations throughout Jefferson County.     New Albany-Floyd County Public Library

    Mark your calendar for the First Families History and Heritage Celebration on Thursday, October 2 from 6pm-8pm. You will experience entertainment from the frontier period, light refreshments will be served, and reenactors will be present.

    Oldham County Public Library

    At the OCPL, a Banned Books Week celebration continues through September 27.  See if you can find the banned books from this interesting list, and check out this infographic of Banned Books by the Numbers.
