    Lynnie Meyer, Norton Healthcare, among award recipients.

    Lynnie Meyer, Norton Health Care, was among a group of Louisvillians recognized for their philanthropy by The Association of Fundraising Professionals on National Philanthropy Day, November 21, 2014.  Ms. Meyer, who leads the operations of the Children's Hospital Foundation and the Norton Healthcare Foundation, was cited for her exceptional leadership to the advancement of the development profession.  Also recognized at the Galt House luncheon were Julie LaValle Jones for her volunteer fund rasing and Mary and All Shands III for the charitable legacy they have created in the greater Louisville and Southern Indiana community.  UPS was named the corporate philanthropist of the year for its civic and charitable impact on the community.  Frank and Paula Harshaw were honored as individual philanthropists of the year for their generosity that has touched so many organizations in greater Louisville in the fields of child welfare and the arts.  Wyatt Jackson, a student at Indiana University was cited as  the Young Philanthropist of the Year for his work in funding student scholarships and cancer research.  Anna-Marie  Beck a freshman at Sacred Heart Academy, was diagnosed in 2007 with a life threatening condition involving fluid on the brain. She has survived twelve brain surgeries.  Her direct leadership in the 2014 Bourbon & Bowties fundraiser helped raise a record amount for Kosair Children's Hospital for which she was named the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy for 2014.
