A professor retires suddenly, saying he is immortal and cannot stay in one place too long. Find out if it's true in Man From Earth, which Wayward Actors Company will present starting this weekend.

Man From Earth will go on Oct. 3, 4, 8, 10, and 11 at 7:30 p.m. each night. A matinee will happen on Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. All performances are to happen at The Bard's Town, located at 1801 Bardstown Road in the Highlands.

Tickets for each show are $17 per person. Due to limited seating, reservations are strongly recommended and can be done at The Bard's Town website.

The science-fiction play Man From Earth focuses on a professor, John Oldman, who suddenly retires. When questioned by his surprised former colleagues, John states he cannot stay in one place for a long period of time. Otherwise, people will figure out his secret of immortality.

The other professors attempt to find holes in John's story, but they soon realize they cannot decide one way or the other if John is telling the truth.

Jerome Bixby created the Man From Earth screenplay, which Richard Schenkman adapted for stage productions. Craig Nolan Highley directed the production for Wayward Actors Company.

The cast features Highley, Tim Kitchen, Julie Anderson, Scotty Anderson, Ron Dawson, Holly Ford, Jeremy Gutierrez, Magdalen Hartman, Darren McGee, Hy Stein, Janice Walter, and Richard Williams.

More information on the production can be found at the Wayward Actors Company Facebook page.
