Get ready: The Comfy Cow is rearing for world domination, one ice cream chain store opening at a time. Southern Indiana is about to gets its second dose of the crazy good cow. What does this mean? All the more reason for Louisvillians to cross over that beguiling bridge to cold, creamy delight in revamped fashion.

Fabulous breaking news, y’all. Our staple Louisville-based maker of gourmet ice creams with clever infusions has announced the opening of their second location next to Boombozz at 1450 Veterans Parkway in Jeffersonville. Can you say date night? It is a truth universally acknowledged that pizza and ice cream are impossibly great; instant life boosters. I think we can all agree. Basically, the trumpets are pealing and our inner five year-olds should all be jumping for joy.

To mark the second grand opening, the new Comfy Cow will be celebrating from 12:00 to 10:00 p.m. with balloons, face-painting, and a DJ. Again- heads up: The Comfy Cow is just handing you an epic date on an alluring platter.

Additionally, a ribbon cutting ceremony shall be held the previous day, May 15th, at 11:00 a.m. Basically another excuse for that not-so-guilty-pleasure Comfy Cow.

In this new locale, you get the option to partake in gourmandizing goodness indoors, fully relishing the staple décor of fun, funky, and vintage. Or you can venture to the charming outdoor patio. Perhaps with some Key to My Heart Lime Pie Ice Cream in tow to impress your date or bond with your family over ice cream dazzled with delectable crunches of homemade pie.

For those wanting a party room (‘tis the season of the weddings), this 2500 square foot shop will also feature a party room, available for use by community groups. Very fitting for an establishment that has always been about bringing satisfaction to the ice cream-craving public.

The Comfy Cow is going strong in its sixth year following its founding in 2009 by Roy and Tim Koons-McGee. The McGees were destined for dessert greatness and are currently living out their lifelong dreams of creating and producing one-of-a-kind super-premium ice cream from deluxe ingredients; with a spin of their own handcrafted Midas touch. They are upholding the belief that vibrant communities make for rich lives.

What makes a life richer than the simple happiness of a child giggling on his mother’s lap as he delves into a kiddie cup? A couple timidly braving to brush fingertips together as they share a waffle cone of Caramel Mocha; ribbons of luscious caramel banding together the infused caffeinated promise of fresh enchantment. Even best friends delving into Shirley’s Red Velvet Cake with White Chocolate Ice Cream, knowing the world will never be as effortlessly captivating as in that standstill moment.

You can put a price on ice cream, but you can’t forget the worth of timeless nostalgia. Experiences make for the finest memories. The Koons-McGees own this wise discovery and with open hearts, believe in giving back to the communities they serve.

This Jeffersonville addition makes the 6th shop for The Comfy Cow. Keep an eye out for upcoming opening shops in Brentwood, TN on May 23rd, and another in Louisville (Middletown), KY in mid-June. Tastes of our favorite ice cream parlor can also be found in many of Louisville’s finest restaurants and specialty stores as well as Louisville’s Whole Foods. Nationwide shipping is officially bringing the magic foodie ride to you, available on Comfy Cow’s website at www.thecomfycow.com.

This makes for the second Comfy Cow location for 23 Scoops, LLC, owned by local residents Lincoln and Loren Ogden, and Bryan and Debbie Flowers.

“We are excited to become an important piece of the Jeffersonville community. The Comfy Cow fundamental aspects of positive attitude, atmosphere, and enjoyment are an integral part of our overall Comfy Cow philosophy. We plan to provide a place for the community to build memories while enjoying ice cream and sharing smiles,” said co-owner Debbie Flowers.

Whether in the full glorious heat of spring-to-summer sunshine or in the quixotic starlight and electrical glow of the nighttime, make your way across The Walking Bridge to an ice cream opening of infinite possibilities. This only means magnificent chances are on the horizon for our evolving foodie community- and I for one can’t wait to see what innovations these genius ice cream makers conceive of next.
