Another series comes to Louisville.com: Parents of Preschoolers in Louisville! Preschoolers: grab your parents and have them take you on some adventures throughout Kentuckiana!

Visit the new Southwest Regional Library. This has got to be my number one pick of the week. My three-year-old and I just visited the new library recently for the first time and had a blast. The children’s library is designed with a definite approach to kids in mind. Look into some of their upcoming storytimes and children’s programming too. According to LFPL, this library is the largest public library built in Louisville in 45 years. There are 120,000 new library books waiting for check out as well! Since it was finally a bright and sunny morning, we played at Riverview Park afterwards for a while before heading back home.

Head to the Louisville Zoo for “The World’s Largest Halloween Party” during Thursdays-Sundays in October from 5-8:30pm.

Venture into the NuLu neighborhood and stop in the Local Speed on East Market Street. Every Saturday they offer a Free Family Art Activity from 11:30-3:30pm. It’s a drop-in and the next one is an open art activity on October 25.

Check out the Halloween events at Louisville Free Public Library.

This Halloween hit list has some family-friendly ideas toward the bottom, especially getting to a hayride and pumpkin patch in the area.

Make a Halloween-inspired mask and other arts and crafts in the KMAC Maker Space at Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft.

Try a Heartland Music Together class. Even though the fall semester is well underway, as long as you call or sign up online parents are always welcome to attend a free demo music class with their child. Call 491-3131 with questions.

Get artsy with Camp a Little at Whet Your Palette. You can also do a $10 walk in painting daily. You create what you want-a great option for a mom and me outing.
