Pick Up The Bourbon Tasting Notebook And Meet The Authors At Carmichael's
    Print this page

Michael Veach and Susan Reigler have written a new book together, and now they are making the rounds promoting their work during public appearances and book signings.  They’ve recently appeared on Crescent Hill Radio’s The Local Life, The Kentucky Bourbon Festival, and now they will be signing books at Carmichael’s on Frankfort Avenue October 15th at 7 p.m.

The book is an excellent reference for anyone just starting their bourbon journey or those who already love bourbon but want to keep their tasting notes organized.  The indices of the book are alone worth the cover price- different bourbons are cross-referenced by many factors, including Bottled in Bond, price, proof, mash bill, and many others.  So if you want to choose a bourbon based on any of those factors, it’s a lot easier to do.

This book would make a great addition to a bar’s reference materials and bourbon menu by providing clear and concise information about what’s on the shelf.  Most of the bourbons listed in the book are readily available, though there are notes on some export only and special release selections.

According to the Carmichael's event page, “The Bourbon Tasting Notebook is a handy logbook for any bourbon enthusiast. Authors Susan Reigler and Michael Veach sampled every brand featured, documenting the flavors, tastes and smells they experienced, along with the proof, age, type, style, mash bill, color, price, nose, taste, and finish for each bourbon, and full-color photos of each bottle for easy reference. They did not assign ratings, letting the reader make their own determination. The bourbons are also indexed by proof and style, along with a checklist so each person can keep track of what has been sampled and record his or her preferences.”

The event will continue at Bourbons Bistro afterward.  Click here for more information.
