The lingering snow and slush can make for rather dreary and unimaginative days. But Spring is right around the corner, and it's a time for renewal and inspiration. Make this Monday one to look forward to with an evening of inspiring poetry at McQuixote Books & Coffee. The Portland Poetry Series returns March 2 with its fourth installment and the theme, "Epiphany." The Series hosts locally, regionally, and nationally renowned poets once a month for an evening of poetry centered on a chosen theme.

    The March featured poets are:

Amber Burns, seasoned poet and Assistant Director of the Louisville nonprofit New Roots, Inc.

Jeremy Clark, recent U of L graduate in Pan-African Studies with work forthcoming in PLUCK! and Callaloo.

Adam Day, coordinator of The Baltic Writing Residency in Latvia, Scotland, and Bernheim Arboretum & Research Forest.

Yolantha Harrison-Pace, teaching artist, playwright, poet, author, and international humanitarian.

Perhaps you are inspired to do a reading of your poetry? Aspiring poets will have an opportunity to share their work in one of the 3 first come, first serve open mic spots.

McQuixote Books & Coffee is located inside The Tim Faulkner Gallery at 1512 Portland Ave. This free event is scheduled to start at 7pm on Monday, March 2.

Visit the McQuixote website for more information about the series and featured artists.
