    Preview: The Apache Relay

Last April Louisville welcomed Nashville’s, The Apache Relay, as part of WFPK’s Waterfront Wednesday series. While the current weather may have us all begging for the spring-like qualities of past April, The Apache Relay will be back this Saturday at Zanzabar and they might just be the thing to cure our winter blues.

The Apache Relay began their nationwide tour of their self-titled album in January. After touring with The Weeks in the UK, they are back in the states, and Louisville is their next stop. If you missed their set at Waterfront Wednesday then you missed the Southern spirit of Tennessee encapsulated in the band’s folk-rock sound and skilled acoustic players. They are in the same vein as other American Indie Folk artists like, Wild Sweet Orange and Dawes.

Last year the band received a lot of attention for the self-titled album and music video for their single, “Katie Queen of Tennessee”. They’ve opened for Mumford & Sons and played to a crowd of 137,000 at Music City’s New Year’s Eve bash on Broadway. It’s safe to say that The Apache Relay is only going up from here, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to see them in an intimate setting this Saturday, February 14th, at Zanzabar.

This event is 21 and over. Tickets are $10-$12 and can be purchased here. Doors at 8:00 and show at 9:00.
