Season tickets and, as of today, single tickets are now available for Louisville Ballet's 2014-15 season.
During its season, Louisville Ballet will present four productions: Giselle (September), The Brown-Forman Nutcracker (December), A Cinderella Story (February 2015), and Director's Choice (April 2014). All mainstage shows, except for Director's Choice, will take place at Whitney Hall inside the Kentucky Center for the Arts, located at 501 West Main Street in downtown Louisville. Director's Choice will take place at the Brown Theatre, located at 315 W Broadway.
Season subscriptions are now available. Depending on the seat and date of performance, subscriptions range in price from $80-$300 per person. Subscriptions can be purchased at the Louisville Ballet website, calling Louisville Ballet at 502-583-2623, or going to the Louisville Ballet studio at 315 East Main Street in downtown Louisville.
Single tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. today, August 1, for Louisville Ballet's shows. Most tickets will start at $32 per person and can be purchased at the Kentucky Center website, the Kentucky Center box office, or by calling Kentucky Center at 1-800-775-7777.
Giselle, a returning favorite, will open Louisville Ballet's season. The show features a frail girl who dies of a broken heart but is brought from the dead to seek revenge on her lover. Giselle will go on September 12 and 13.
Following is Louisville Ballet's traditional Christmas show The Brown-Forman Nutcracker, in which a toy sends a girl into a magical world with the Sugar Plum Fairy and a Nutcracker prince. The production runs Dec. 6-21.
Appropriately around Valentine's Day, Louisville Ballet will next present A Cinderella Story. The retelling of the original Cinderella story is updated to the 1950s and is set to jazz music straight from Richard Rogers. These performances will take place Feb. 13 and 14.
Finally, Louisville Ballet will present Director's Choice, which will feature a variety of dance styles and works which the artistic director Bruce Simpson will design. The performances go on April 10 and 11 in the Brown Theatre.
Also available during the season will be the annual studio series, where Louisville Ballet performs more intimate arrangements at its studio at 315 East Main Street. Studio Connections (October), and Choreographer's Showcase (April 2015) tickets will be available for $20 for season subscribers and $25 for all others. Tickets can be purchased through Louisville Ballet directly.
