The Slant Culture Theatre Festival, as part of its "playful experiments, dramatic results" approach, will feature shows of all types, from comedy, drama, storytelling, one-man shows, improv, workshops, audience participation, and more, beginning now.

The festival will take place between now and Nov. 22 with all shows being performed at Walden Theatre, located at 1123 Payne Street in the Highlands.

Among the shows to be performed include theater productions like host company Walden Theatre's Jane the Plain, about a plain girl whose life gets changed thanks to a selfie and some cosmic help.

Theatre 502, meanwhile, brings the Bull, a satire about three employees who may, quite literally, get the ax.

Also, Think Tank Theatre will open its first-ever show, Ton of Bricks. The show focuses on love won, love lost, and everything in between, all based on interviews with members of the Louisville community.

Meanwhile, improv and audience participation shows will certainly take on the "playful experiments" slogan. Louisville Improvisors, for example, will present The Buddy Glim Show, a radio variety-style show that will take on unexpected directions and genuine moments, including special guests, songs, and banter between the radio shows's stars.

Also, The Moth StorySLAM will feature random audience members sharing brief stories from multiple angles about the subject of chemistry. For those more into poetry, The Loohuvul Lip will present Unraveling Our Navels So That We May Ingest the Sun, which will be presented with audience interaction and spoken word poetry-style.

There will also be a workshop for actors and hopeful actors wanting to brush up on audition skills as Walden Theatre will present the Adult Audition Workshops.

Finally, plenty of other producing companies, one-man shows, and more will be taking the stage during Slant Culture, including: Looking for Lilith, Savage Rose Classical Theatre Company, The Bard's Town, Baby Horse Theatre Group, and others.

For a complete rundown of the festival's lineup, go to the Slant Culture Theatre Festival website.

Several ticket options are available for $12-$65 per person, depending if the person wants to experience one show or enjoy the whole festival. Ticket options can be found at this website.
