Princess Diana sported the most fashionable formal wear to important events.  The princess wore fabulous suits and glamorous dresses.  Jacques Azagury, Gianni Versace and Valentino were favorites for her evening looks.

The blue and white flecked suit was by Chanel, which was taken over by Karl Lagerfield in 1983. Princess Diana felt this chic and sophisiticated outfit was perfect for her mature style, as a single woman.

Versace made the white evening dress and the purple dress. The white dress had beading by Swarowski, was for a photo shoot in 1997. Diana never wore the purple dress in public, Versace dresses are distinctive for their fitting shape.

Jacques Azagury’s sparkly black evening gown was flattering and luxurious.  Princess Diana wore this to celebrate Sir James Goldsmith’s election as a Euro MP.

In addition, Azagury made the blue shift cocktail dress, which Diana wore to the Royal Albert Hall for a performance of Swan Lake. Azagury recalled how the princess took more risks in her style as she got older, in comparison to turning down shorter skirts when she was younger.
