As promised, The Portland Poetry Series delivered an evening of inspiration. The readings were raw and emotional, funny and light. The featured poets as well as the open mic participants shared meaningful pieces that reflected well the evening’s theme, “Epiphany.” They spoke of identity, race, love, pain, death, faith, relationships, abuse, family, strength, community, and proverbial mountains.

Jeremy Clark reflected on the impact of others in where he comes from and where he’s going.

Amber Burns stood still as her words evoked vivid and emotional images in the mind of listeners.

Yolantha Harrison-Pace brought movement to the room through her unique performance style of poetry.

Adam Day paid tribute to those who have inspired in life and death.

The Portland Poetry Series is a monthly event hosted by McQuixote Books & Coffee inside The Tim Faulkner Gallery. Visit their website for more information about the series and upcoming dates.
