With methodical precision and finesse the functional sculpture Craig Kaviar will heat a bar of cold iron to a glowing three thousand degrees transforming it into a three dimensional horse head for the public during January's FAT Friday Trooly Hop starting at 7:30 p.m., January 27.

The public will also get a chance to view his controversial copper reprosse relief sculpture just returned from display in the United States Pavilion at the Worlds Fair in Aichi Japan. Shown horizontally “In the Eye of the Beholder” is a copper eye with the earth as the iris including the moon nearby. Shown vertically with the alternate title “Origin of Man” the piece resembles female anatomy with the earth and moon revealed within.

Mr. Kaviar will be teaching a 2-day workshop in forging copper reposse at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft as part of American Craft Council Conference to be held in Louisville March 24 & 25.

Gallery is located at 1718 Frankfort Avenue. Hours are Thursday and Friday 1 to 6 PM and Saturday 11am to 5 PM and by appointment.
