President Barack Obama came on television today, and essentially dismissed the first-ever downgrade of the U.S. credit rating, saying "Markets will rise and fall, but this is the United States of America. No matter what some agency may say, we've always been and always will be a triple-A country."  Even as he spoke, the Dow Jones Industrial Average continued its historic downward slide of more than 630 points.

Obama Don't Care.jpgThe president’s Democratic supporters searched everywhere for culprits.  Massachusetts Senator John Kerry and presidential advisor David Axelrod both pointed fingers of blame at the conservatives.  “This is the Tea Party downgrade,” said Kerry.  Congressman Barney Frank (D., Mass.) blamed the credit rating debacle on excessive military spending.

Kentucky’s junior senator, Republican Rand Paul, today issued a statement regarding the current mud-slinging and finger-pointing toward the Tea Party for the U.S. credit downgrade, saying that "Blaming the Tea Party for America's debt crisis and downgrade is like blaming the fireman for fires.”

"The Tea Party has been fighting for a serious solution that woulddown grade.jpg rescue our finances through immediate spending cuts, spending caps and most importantly, a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution. With the support of the Tea Party, I offered the only solution that could have prevented our downgrade with our Cut, Cap and Balance plan,” said Sen. Paul.

Sen. Paul concluded:  "While Democrats would like to lay blame on the Tea Party for the current economic failure, it is their President who has failed in leadership, failed to lower unemployment, failed to rescue our economy, failed to prevent a downgrade of our debt, and failed to control spending."

U.S.-economy-titanic.jpgOur ship has certainly hit an iceberg, and the Democrats can be expected to run around for a bit, blaming everyone except the Captain for the disaster.  But the American voters are not as forgiving—and certainly not as ignorant—as the leftist cabal in the White House believes.  And it will be 2012 before you know it.
