If you find yourself lost in Southern Indiana, you might come across a familiar place.  Local bar and restaurant Brownie’s The Shed Grille and Bar is opening a Southern Indiana location.

The Brownie's team will be taking over the space that had been occupied by Fieldhaus at 826 W. Main St. in New Albany – which existed for years as J.R.’s Pub before rebranding earlier this year.

This is the third location for Brownie’s The Shed Grille and Bar – their first and flagship store opened nearly a decade ago at 237 Wittington Parkway.  And there’s also a Highlands location that opened late last year at 1578 Bardstown Road.  Further expansion is expected in the near future.

Brownie’s The Shed Grille and Bar has become neighborhood hangout. Wedged in a perfect corner between Middle Town, J-Town, Lyndon, and St. Matthews – the bar's flagship location draws clientele from all over the east end of Louisville. The atmosphere at Brownie's the Shed Grille and Bar swings in any direction on any given night: it can be a laid back hangout spot during the week (though on Wednesday nights Brownie's has $1.50 beers and $1.50 brats, making that evening a little crazier), often filled with service industry workers grabbing a post-shift drink.  On the weekends, Brownie's has live music and a packed house.

As Brownie's expands to new neighborhoods in and around Louisville, the bar’s motto “Your closest home to home,” will resonate in any part of town.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
