The Speed Art Museum, will exhibit the Kentucky Doodle 4 Google™ 2012 finalists beginning Memorial Day weekend. The doodles will remain on view at the Museum through July 8, 2012.

Second grader Dylan Hoffman of Caledonia, Wisc. is this year’s U.S. Doodle 4 Google National Winner. His doodle “Pirate Times”

Doodle 4 Google™ is one of several efforts by Google to encourage and celebrate the creativity of young people by asking students to create their own Google doodle. The theme this year was, “If I could travel in time, I’d visit…”

The doodles were judged by a team of Googlers and then guest judges--such as Phineas and Ferb creator and executive producer, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, and recording artists Jordin Sparks and Katy Perry--helped choose the top doodles.

Entries were submitted from all across Kentucky and these finalists represent the top submissions in each age group. The top doodle in the state will compete against winners from other states. The national winner of Doodle 4 Google™ will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and his/her doodle featured on the Google homepage.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Google on the Doodle 4 Google™ program. The Speed has a long history of programming that encourages children’s creativity and we are honored to be the venue chosen to display the Kentucky finalists in this year’s competition,” commented Speed Chief Operating Officer, Lisa Betson Resnik.

Museum hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Friday 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (open late); Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Galleries are closed on Monday and Tuesday.
