While November is often most associated with turkeys, Indians and pilgrimages, the month also signifies a celebration of lives changed for the better by the adoption process – National Adoption Month.

In honor of this little-known designation, Jefferson County will be signing off on 30+ adoptions on Friday, finalizing paperwork that will make many families more legally concrete in their existence and giving dozens of children the satisfaction and stability that comes with finally finding a “forever” home.

According to a report from St. Joseph Children’s Home, close to a quarter of these adoptions will come from the Foster Care and Adoption Program at the Crescent Hill establishment. While specifics can’t legally be laid out, the home has confirmed that two sibling groups of three and two individual children from the program will be adopted this month and that the families that are adopting the sibling groups are families that have adopted previously from the St. Joe’s program.
