    Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Louisville has announced its highly anticipated schedule of events coming this fall--its largest fundraisers--the 2010 Pink Tie Ball and the 2010 Komen Louisville Race for the Cure.

    Presented by ICAP Energy, dance the night away at the 6th annual Pink Tie Ball.  "Fight like a Girl" is this year's theme for the "pink" tie evening featuring a pink champagne and cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, and a silent and live auction on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

    Individual tickets for the Pink Tie Ball are $200.  Breast Cancer Survivor Tickets are $125.  Pink Lounge "Dance only" tickets are $75.  All tickets are now available for purchase online at or by calling 502-584-CURE.

    The 15th annual Komen Louisville Race for the Cure, presented by Kroger, is Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Waterfront Park.  The Race for the Cure raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battles with the disease.  This year, new additions to the event have been added, including an exclusive V.I.Pink area and a Kids Fun Zone.

    Online registration for the 2010 Komen Louisville Race for the Cure is now open at  Participants who register online will receive a $5 discount for saving paper and going green.  After the discount, online registration is $25 for adults and $20 for children in 8th grade or lower.  For those who aren't able to participate in the Race, Sleep In for the Cure is also available for $35, and includes the cost to mail Race shirts directly to participants. V.I.Pink tickets are $100 and include Race registration and admission to the V.I.Pink area, which offers a luxurious lounge with massage and delicious treats in a garden-like setting.

    Up to 75% of the net proceeds collected from these events stays in Louisville to fund breast health education, and breast cancer screenings and treatment projects.  The remainder goes directly to the national Susan G.
