The Highlands Taproom is super excited for equality.  To celebrate, next month, when the Supreme Court is expected to rule in favor of marriage equality, thus legalizing gay marriage, the Bardstown Road staple is already planning the party.  Since the Supreme Court doesn’t announce dates for their decisions in advance, the exact date of the “Marriage Celebration!” is unknown, all they know is that it’s expected to come down in June.

This won’t just be a typical Highlands Tap Room party, either – they are planning to have music, decorations, cake and licensed ministers ready to officiate on site for everyone…gay or straight, anyone or couple who wants to be there and celebrate this giant step in the right direction, is encouraged to take part in the celebration.

If you would like to get married The Highlands Taproom “Marriage Celebration!” here is all you’ll need to take part:
    1) Get your Marriage License in advance at the Jefferson County Clerk's Office
    2) Come to the Tap Room
    3) Say "I do"

They’ll take care of the rest.

And if you don’t want to get married but just want to celebrate a stroke toward equality, then you should feel free to join them, as well.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
