    CeFiore Frozen Yogurt

Just as the leaves start to change color, signaling a definitive end to the glow of a joyful season, so it is time to bid farewell to a beloved froyo establishment: CeFiore. But not for just a season. Sadly, after seven years of offering consistently healthy, yet simultaneously luscious frozen yogurt, this Sunday, October 26th, one of the Highland’s chief sweet tooth locales will be closing its doors.

CeFiore created the kind of chilled treat that was like delighting in a cool cloud that fluttered across your taste buds. I love when food not only tastes great, but also is good for you. Some dessert, you commit to the caloric plunge that weighs like an anchor in your stomach. You commiserate with friends about how terrible and wonderful you feel for having indulged in that forbidden fruit. But with CeFiore, you could eat that rich gourmet dinner and still have room to relish a saccharine delicacy.

I rejoiced in adding fresh kiwi and berries as toppings, quietly smiling while crunching into succulent, non-forbidden fruit. The juices complemented the graceful yogurt in stellar form. Just imagine an ideal yin and yang; the glorious tang of Original Tart boosted even more by the satisfying pool of raspberries swirled atop the concoction.

CeFiore has been a haven for dessert-lovers and health-enthusiasts. Fat-free, gluten-free, and certified kosher dairy, we have prided ourselves for having the only Kentucky location that caters perfectly tart, smooth froyo to satisfy a great range of cravings. And now, we only have less than a week left to enjoy flavors like Acai, Green Tea, Vanilla, Taro, Raspberry Pomegranate, and the best Original Tart!

Louisville, make sure to order a last nourishing cup of cold contentment by this Sunday, before the doors to CeFiore close as we know it.

It’s a dessert-eat-dessert world out there. CeFiore’s closing might not be a coincidence once you consider that particular corner in the Highlands appears as the cloud nine section for sweet tooths in the ‘Ville. Between CeFiore, Sweet Cece’s-turned-Lula’s, and now the new Comfy Cow, it appears CeFiore could not survive the saccharine saturation. If only there was a place for everyone, but sadly, it looks like CeFiore’s time has come in this foodie circle of life.

Meanwhile, we will look forward to the rebirth of a new establishment. CeFiore’s genius makers are raring to take on Louisville’s foodie future in January 2015. According to CeFiore’s facebook page, all we know about the imminent project is that, “Currently, froyo is not a part of the future menu.”

Even the most timeless books come to an end. Hopefully CeFiore’s sequel will be just as mouth-watering, even if we must bid adieu to the froyo we all know and love.
