    With a food destination like Louisville, there’s no telling what twists of tradition these local brunch spots have in store. Here’s where you should brunch, and you’ll want to find out for yourself why.

    HIGHLAND MORNING

    This family owned restaurant offers quality, hand crafted and fresh home style southern classics. Awarded the People’s Choice Award in the 2013 Annual Cook Off, the biscuits ‘n gravy are an absolute must. Crowd favorites are the dutch apply pie waffles or the grits of the day.

    Sat-Sun 8am-4pm

    GRALEHAUS

    This bed and breakfast offers a unique and delicious twist on traditional southern brunch. Whether it’s cold brew iced coffee from the tap, the sausage and grits with an eclectic twist, or the biscuits and gravy topped with an egg, you better get your seat quick, or maybe a night’s stay in this popular bed and breakfast.

    TOAST ON MARKET 

    One of Louisville’s favorite lunch and breakfast spots, Toast on Market serves up an inventive menu based on comfort food. Try the lemon souffle pancakes or the light and fluffy hash brown casserole paired with the best Bloody Mary you’ve ever had or a hand crafted latte.

    THE SILVER DOLLAR

    This juke joint inspired Louisville favorite has ovre 100 Kentucky bourbon and rye whiskeys, made-from-scratch Southern food, and classic honky tonk music straight from vinyl. If you’re looking for a real taste of the Bluegrass you’ve got to try this place for their biscuits and gravy, flank and eggs, or classic cornbread pancakes. Here, whiskey by the drink is celebrated, even if it is 10 am.

    HILLBILLY TEA

    This brunch spot brings an entirely knew definition to whatever pretenses you may have originally had concerning hillbillies. This farm-to-table Appalachian food and tea restaurant provides a one of a kind rustic southern environment while serving up some of the most unique takes on traditional southern meals. Check out the bourbon breakfast, half fried hen, or lamb burger.

    ​THE VILLAGE ANCHOR AND PUB

    Expect the unexpected at this cozy eatery with a fireplace. Some of The Village Brunch favorites include The Village Anchor French Toast (fresh brioche layered with strawberry cream cheese with a heaping serving of fresh fruit and Vermont maple syrup) the Grilled Filet Mignon on Bleu Cheese Biscuits (hefty bleu cheese biscuits with grilled beef tenderloin with caramelized onion) or the Red-Velvet Pancakes; yes, that does count as breakfast.

    GARAGE BAR

    It might look like an auto shop from the street but you wont find any cars here, except for the ones colliding into each other in the front of the building. From french toast to smoked salmon, Garage Bar has accumulated a one of a kind menu for those leaning toward the wild side of traditional dining. This hip bar/eatery is a former garage for brick-oven pizzas and southern cuisine with a one of a kind patio making dining outside a must.

    RAMSI'S CAFE AROUND THE WORLD

    An all around favorite for any meal of the day, Ramsi's has a diverse range of international flavors from around the world set in funky environment. 

    Sun 10 am- 2:30pm

    ​LOUVINO

    This little treasure has a great trendy environment for kicking back and enjoying a nice brunch. The portions are small but they pack a punch. Eat there for Sunday brunch for under ten dollars and try the stuffed french toast with vanilla mascarpone, berry jam and bourbon maple or pancake tacos filled with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and cheese.
