Looking for something to do this summer that’s different yet won’t hurt your wallet at the gas pump? Discover Louisville’s most extraordinary shopping, dining and entertainment venues along the historic Frankfort Avenue corridor. Located 5 miles from downtown Louisville, it is easily accessible from many major cities, including Lexington, Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Nashville.
There truly is something to see and do on Frankfort Avenue for everyone.

    Have a Ball

Finding something fun to do on Frankfort Avenue is easy. Don’t miss the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hops on the Final Friday of every month, a fun, family-friendly way to experience art, music, shopping and dining in the area. And on nearly every day of the month, there are events, entertainment and exhibits to experience. From the annual Fourth of July Picnics, Olde Tyme Christmas and Easter Parades, to theatre, concerts and local live music at the many cool nightspots, this is the place to be every night or day of the week!

    Relive the Past

Historical buildings in the Frankfort Avenue area include Three Mile Tollhouse, which housed the tollgate keeper and his family (now Ray Parrella’s Family Italian Restaurant), Widman’s Saloon and Grocery (now Irish Rover Pub), and Spect’s Saloon, which now houses Bourbon’s Bistro.
The Peterson-Dumesnil House, built in 1869, served as a summer residence for the Peterson and Dumesnil families for over six generations and is now a site for many community and private gatherings. The charm of these historical buildings reflects a by-gone era and is the perfect venue for unique shopping, dining and entertainment, which makes the present day Frankfort Avenue area one of Louisville’s most distinctive historic neighborhoods and an ideal destination for visitors and locals alike.

    Get Inspired
The Historic Frankfort Avenue corridor boasts one of Louisville’s fastest growing art communities. Artist studios, galleries and showrooms offer award-winning work, special exhibits and openings featuring local and regional craftsmen, artists, painters, sculptors and photographers.... and since many of the studios and galleries are owned by the artists themselves, there is always a chance of meeting the artist first-hand!

    Shop the Avenue
Looking for a one-of-a-kind gift? You’ve come to the right place.
Historic Frankfort Avenue corridor prides itself on a wide variety of independently owned boutiques and shops offering many items you won’t likely find elsewhere – from vintage and consignment clothing to outdoor gear, imported crafts, antiques, home furnishings and accents, wine, books, coffee and so much more.

    Indulge Your Appetite
No matter what your mood or taste in food, from international cuisine to the unique flavors of the city, state and other parts of the South – you’ll find it in diverse restaurants along the Historic Frankfort Avenue corridor. Al fresco dining on the Avenue is divine in the spring and fall, but the award-winning cuisine, libations and friendly atmospheres will keep you warm inside all year long!
