The world will never run out of love stories. Never. There is too much. Too many ways to explore this theme. It's irresistible. Love is such an intense emotion; it inspires artists, it makes people Feel Things. We are speaking of romantic love here, by the way. It is important to specify. There are so many different kinds of love, but only one word for them. It's inconvenient. I love my daughter (by the way, is the only instance of true and complete unconditional love I have ever experienced; it's beautiful). I used to be married – I loved her, but in a different way; this went away. I love members of my immediate family – tentatively. It's complicated. I love certain of my friends I consider brothers (one in particular is practically unconditional). But we are here to talk about romantic love, and friendship. One of my all-time favorite love stories is F.W. Murnau's 1927 silent film Sunrise.
It is about love thought lost and rekindled. It is beautiful. Simply beautiful.
