    The Louisville Music Awards, in its third year, will once again recognize the talents of Louisville's finest musicians and you have the opportunity to begin the voting process. 

    This year's event will be held at the Bombard Theatre in the Kentucky Center on November 5. The previous Louisville Music Awards have been held at Headliners Music Hall. The event is free.

    Announced performers so far include hip hop fusion artist 1200 and pianist Rachel Grimes. 

    Sponsors this yeah are Old Forester and Do502, which is where voting will take place. Place your vote here. You are allowed to vote until September 14. Categories you can vote for include Americana Artist of the Year (country, bluegrass, blues), Folk Artist of the Year, Live DJ of the Year, Cover Band of the Year, Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Jazz/Avant Garde Artist of the Year, Rock Artist of the Year (pop, rock), Metal/Hardcore Artist of the Year, Singer/Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.

    According to the Louisville Music Awards website, a voting academy will be assembled consisting of press professionals and music professionals of varying disciplines from across the Louisville area.  Members may remain in the academy indefinitely.The Producers will review the nominations and submit finalists to the Academy and to the Public for voting.  The Academy's selections count for 2/3 of the total vote, while the Public vote comprises the remaining 1/3.
