    Stout Burgers & Beers expands to get a bite of the Louisville food scene

    Stout Burgers & Beers, a Los Angeles staple for gourmet burgers and draft microbrew beers will expand to Derby City in 2015. Stout will open their doors in the former space of the Highland staple La Bodega, located at 1604 Bardstown Road in the heart of the Highlands.

    “Louisville is quickly gaining attention nationwide as a food town, and Stout will be a great addition to the scene,” said Philip Camino of Stout Burgers & Beers. “Our concept was originally designed for the competitive Los Angles market, but we are really excited to be partnering with Louisville investors and businesses, so that we can bring a quality local, neighborhood restaurant to this burgeoning city.”

    Executive Chef Alex Kagianaris is currently developing Louisville-specific burger specials, but a few fan favorites will remain on the menu. The “Stout Burger” will certainly be among the menu staples that remain, featuring blue cheese, gruyere, rosemary bacon, caramelized onion, horseradish cream and roasted tomatoes. The secret to all the burgers bold flavors though lie in the meat.

    "We take pride in the food we create, and we're obsessed with making sure the meat is the highest quality possible,” said Charles Lew of Stout Burgers & Beers. “Our local dry-aged beef is ground fresh daily and hand mixed to produce a burger with the coveted juicy center and perfectly browned crust.” 

    In addition to gourmet beef burgers, Stout’s menu offers veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches and salads as well as a full bar. Outdoor seating will be seasonally available. 

    Stout will be open for lunch and dinner with a grand opening expected before Derby 2015.
