This week's happenings in the Louisville comedy scene:

Straight from the set of Chelsea Lately...

What do you get when morals and logic collide? It's comedian Ryan Stout, a Chelsea Lately regular who's headlining this weekend at the Improv. Exploring morally repugnant subject matter with smart and sterile objectivity, his exaggerated honesty, delightful insincerity and cute self-righteousness sell his wickedly witty material. Ryan has his own half-hour Comedy Central special, hosted MTV's Singled Out and has made several appearances on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom radio show.

Watch this video of Ryan Stout to get a glimpse of his stand-up act discussing the connections between women and math scores. You can catch him at The Improv (at 4th Street Live) this week from Thursday 8/25 through Sunday 8/28. Also featuring Nate Bargatze. Tickets are $15.

West Virginia produces some bizarre tales...

For those who prefer a more laid-back evening out with hilarious personal stories that strike a chord with everyone, Josh Copen is one to see this week at the Comedy Caravan. Originally from Kingwood, WV, Josh is a powerful stand-up comic, sharing anecdotes of his life that are painful to him, but enjoyable to all those around him, which in turn adds more pain to him. From confusing Megan Fox for Shia Lebouf to the horrible tales of being a waiter at a Chili's, there isn't a joke of his you can't relate to or won't find funny.

Watch this video of Josh Copen for a sneak preview of his act that he's brining to the Comedy Caravan this week from Thursday 8/25 through Sunday 8/28. Also featuring Tim Dimond. Tickets are $10-$15.

Mommy, where do jokes come from?
