    Forecastle 2016 is finally here. Time to pull out those mermaid fins and giant puppets and sport them out in public at Waterfront Park. And if you want to wear them to the late night shows, that's okay too. 

    Here's a taste of what's going down in Louisville this weekend. 

     

    FRIDAY JULY 15

    Forecastle 2016

    One of the largest music festivals in the country, Forecastle, is finally here folks! Check out the lineup and buy your tickets before it's too late!

    When: Friday, July 15 - Sunday, July 17

    Forecastle Late Night: An Evening with Dr. Dog

    Dr. Dog will be putting on a show at this Forecastle after party. This is an 18+ event.

    Vince Morris Live

    Originally from Columbus Ohio, Vince Morris is one of the hottest up and coming comedy veterans on the scene today. No stranger to television, Vince has appeared on B.E.T.’s Comic View, H.B.O’s Def Comedy Jam, CBS’ Late Late Show, Comics Unleashed W/Byron Allen, and his own Half Hour Comedy Central Special just to name a few.

    Forecastle Late-Night Show: RJD2 with Jon Dose

    DJ RJD2 and Jon Dose will be performing at this Forecastle after party! Come out to see the two futuristic electric artists party all night long. This is an 18+ event.

    After the Waterfront: White Reaper Has a Ball

    There will be a limbo competition, special guest DJs all night and free Capri Suns while supplies last. Wear prom attire, a costume or come as you are!

    One Night Stand with Nick Fradiani

    Camp Gilda's Carnival 

    Camp Gilda's Carnival features family friendly fun and games like cake walks, inflatable bouncers, face painting and food and drinks. Members of the Louisville FC Soccer team will be available for photos and autographs.

    SATURDAY JULY 16

     

    2016 Central Kentucky Knap-In and Lithic Art Show 

    Interact with rock enthusiasts and artisans from the region as they demonstrate the process of flint knapping. This lost art was practiced by people in ancient times to make tools and weapons. Modern replicas and pre-historic artifacts will be on display for sale or trade, as well as other primitive arts and crafts.

    6th Annual Summer Showdown Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show / Silent Auction

    Awards will start at 4pm. Trophies will be given to the Best of Show + $100, Best Motorcycle, People’s Choice Car/Truck, People’s Choice Motorcycle, President’s Choice, Kids’ Choice & Top 40.

    Forecastle Late-Night Show: Robert DeLong with Prince Terrance 

    Robert DeLong has a thing for tarot, but that shouldn't be too surprising. The rise of the Los Angeles dance-pop provocateur and one-man band seems fated thus far. Also Prince Terrence wil be performing.

    SUNDAY JULY 17

     

    Bluegrass Breakfast

    Join Garey Farms and the Frazier History Museum for a Rooftop Breakfast! Offering fresh made sausage, egg & cheese on a pretzel slider; country ham & egg on a pretzel slider; bacon, egg & cheese on a pretzel slider; hash brown casserole and muffins by Kentucky’s Garey Farms, fresh coffee and strawberry lemonade, and a variety of Kentucky Proud products available for purchase.     Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory 20th Anniversary Celebration

    Twenty years ago, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory swung open its doors. Back in the day of the Macarena and Mario Kart 64, museum admission was just $4, factory tour guides used bullhorns, and Derek Jeter was named Rookie of the Year. More than four million guests later, LSMF plans to party like it’s 1996 on Sunday, July 17.
