    The Kentucky Center Louisville Ballet and the Louisville Orchestra | Collaboration
    On March 4 & 5 the Louisville Orchestra will join forces with Louisville Ballet for Spring Collaboration, which marks their first full co-production together. Comprising three fully-staged ballets, all with original choreography by Award-winner Adam Hougland, the program showcases the world premiere of Hougland’s reinvention of Stravinsky’s seminal ballet Petrouchka, alongside his Cold Virtues, set to the music of Philip Glass, and a world premiere ballet, Union, with original music, Unified Field, by Teddy Abrams, the Louisville Orchestra’s Music Director.

    Doc's Cantina | Louisville Polar Plunge
    The Polar Plunge presented by Doc's Cantina is one of the biggest Special Olympics fundraisers of the year. The Plunge is a truly unique event and includes a fun, festive atmosphere with food and great prizes. The Plunge works just like a Walk-a-Thon, but with one big twist. Participants still solicit donations to support their effort (a BEAR minimum of $75 to take part or $50 for Junior Plungers), but instead of walking, Polar Bears take a chilly dip into the Ohio River off the docks at Doc's Cantina by the Big Four Bridge in Louisville.

    Actors Theatre | "Smoke & Soul" Panel Discussion
    Two of the nation’s most respected food writers, Adrian Miller and Toni Tipton-Martin will join Chef Edward Lee as he moderates a panel discussion about the current state of soul food in America and the trends that we are seeing in Southern Food. Immediately following the panel talk, there will be a book signing by the two authors of their seminal books:  This event also celebrates the conclusion of the first year of the "Smoke & Soul" internship program. Four interns who have completed the Youth Build apprentice program with Chef Edward Lee will be celebrating their graduation.

    Kentucky Center | Ford Motor Company Spelling Bee
    The Ford Motor Company Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee showcases Kentucky and Southern Indiana’s top spellers in a suspenseful competition that leaves only one standing. To advance to this event, students must first win their county competition. The top five finishers receive savings bonds from the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation, while the overall champion gets to ride on the Winner’s Float in the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade.

    Kentucky International Convention Center | Louisville Health Kick Festival
    The Louisville Health Kick Festival, is an annual spring festival benefitting Kosair Children's Hospital. This free family fun event will have lots of kid-friendly activities, interactive vendor booths, a petting zoo, face painting, and fire and safety vehicles. There will also be special appearances by Disney Princesses and Marvel Heroes. Bring your checkbooks to participate in our silent auction that has a huge variety of items including UK and UL sports memorabilia and much, much more. At 2 p.m. attendees will be amazed and entertained by an exciting martial arts demonstration by hundreds of Hwang's Martial Arts students for a small $5 donation. ALL proceeds benefit the Children's Hospital Foundation.

    The New Vintage / Zbar | Three-and-a-Half Sense Festival
    The first-ever Three-and-a-Half Sense Festival will feature 15+ local and regional musical acts (performing at one outdoor stage and two indoor locations), local/regional breweries, three local food trucks, and a tequila and bourbon tasting from Bernie Lubbers. The event will be held at The New Vintage, Zanzabar and the back alley-way connecting the two venues. Imagine a back-alley party with warm cocktails, big beers, string bands, heaters and lights, as well as shows running in both venues. The mini festival is a fundraiser for the FREE Seven Sense Festival to be held again for the third year on Preston Street (Aug. 20, 2016), which in turn benefits the local Boys and Girls Haven.

    The Speed Art Museum | Opening Gala
    The Speed Ball is the Speed Art Museum’s most significant fundraiser and is critical for the current, and future, success of the Museum.
