    Bit to Do

Most of my life-shattering mysteries involve frantic searches for simple household items hiding in conspicuous corners: scissors, lip balm, my favorite nail file, the roll of tape, that little scrap of paper with that oh-so-important number scribbled in the margin.  I have made a frazzled career tracking these elusive little creatures to their hidey-holes, but the extent of my everyday detective work usually ends with the junk drawer (it’s not really a “utility drawer”; don’t kid yourself).  Not the case if your name happens to be Kinsey Millhone.

Millhone, the shrewd main character of Sue Grafton’s “alphabet series”, uses her astute sleuthing skills yet again in Grafton’s latest mystery novel, V is for Vengeance.  Grafton, an original Louisvillian, has created a worldwide name and phenomenon with her popular detective series.  Now published in 28 countries and 26 languages, the crime-solving adventures of Millhone have an international readership well into the millions.  Join both Grafton and other mystery fans at the Frankfort Avenue location of Carmichael’s Bookstore for a signed copy of V is for Vengeance.

Starting at 2pm, Grafton will be available – pen in hand – for signatures.  Interested fans can pre-order a copy of V is for Vengeance from Carmichael’s and receive a 15% bestseller discount; line numbers/tickets for the signing are free with a paid copy.  Each person in must have a line number/ticket in order to participate in the signing (so preorder now!); all tickets will be held with pre-ordered books at the Frankfort Avenue store and can be picked up at any time – including the day of.  Books and tickets will not be mailed.  Only customers with copies of V is for Vengeance may participate, and Grafton will only sign up to 3 backlist titles with the purchase of the new release.

Got all that? Good.  It’s no mystery that Carmichael’s will probably be packed, so pre-order now and get the latest scoop on your favorite sleuth.

Carmichael’s Bookstore has two area locations                           1295 Bardstown Road and 2720 Frankfort Avenue

    About Erin Day

I'm a Louisville native who transplanted home from Las Vegas recently. Don't ask. In my spare time I read a lot of books and drink gin. My soulmate is my 1994 turquoise Ford Ranger - they never made a finer truck. I still totally believe in the Loch Ness Monster. I just want to write for you.
