This weekend, see a great air show that all benefits Kosair Children's Hospital. It's June 6 and 7 from 11am-5pm each day at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The Wings for Kids 2015 event is a huge draw for kids and families so be sure to check it out. There will be many flying exhibitions including aerobatic airplanes, WWI and WWII Warbirds, turbine-powered jet aircraft (going at a speed of 199 mph) and scale vintage planes. There will be plenty of fun activities for the whole family, including a candy drop, inflatables, raffles, food to purchase, and flying simulators. The event is put on in part by River City Radio Controllers. This is the thirteenth year of the air show, and over the years they have raised over $200,000 for children at Kosair's.  Use the hashtag #KCHWingsforKids on social media.

Check out some of these Wings for Kids t-shirts that feature illustrations from patients at Kosair Children’s Hospital. The patients worked with art therapists to draw their own versions of airplanes. They are really neat!

Ticket prices are $3 per person or $10 per car. The event will be held at Bill Fluke Airfield at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park.  Enter the airfield off of Hurstbourne Parkway near Westport Road. All proceeds go to benefit work at Kosair Children's Hospital. See the Facebook event page for more details.
