The Louisville Sports Commission has been staying busy, this can be seen in all of the athletic events they have coming up.
We know better than ever how being active in our early years leads to a lifetime of good health. Girls on the Run Louisville seeks to promote this, as well as self-esteem and character building, among its participants. Its program culminates with a 5K Fun-Run, being held on May 12, and any and all community members are encouraged to volunteer their time and energy to this event.
The Home of the Innocents is holding their annual "Home Run" 10 and 5K's October 29th and is currently looking for entrants, volunteers, and supporters.
The Susan G. Komen race for the cure kicks off tomorrow marking itself as an important run in the city.
Kick off the month of October with the Highland Cup 5K Run/Walk, a 3.1 mile loop from Douglas Boulevard Christian Church to Big Rock and back. The event is Saturday, October 1 at 8:00 a.m., to be followed by a pancake breakfast at the church from 8:30-9:30.
Get rid of the guilt by lacing up and making a run for it with the YMCA and the Mayor's Office at area outdoor foot races this Friday.
